Bar Staff
| The bar staff at Daddy's Backdoor includes the bar owner, a bar manager/bartender, an awesome cook, a few additional bartenders, a hot barback/bootblack boy, and our very own gay DJ. You'll find each staff member working different shifts throughout the week and every weekend to serve your needs.

Michael and John |
John S. (Owner) - John is a former US Navy man from his younger years. He started out as a bartender working at Arabian Nights followed by the Wind Jammer. He then became the owner of the Cabaret in 1988 until it closed in 2000. Following this he opened the Backdoor along with Opals Kitchen. He then moved on to open his current mens bar, Daddy’s. John is happily partnered with David of 15 years and looks forward to many more.
David (Bartender/Cook) - David is very proud of his 15 year relationship with his partner and owner of Daddy’s, John S. He has also worked along side John over the years and has been involved in the last three bars John has owned. He very much enjoys his time traveling and meeting new friends.

| Ernie (Manager/Bartender) - Ernie has had many years in the G.L.B.T. Community serving as a bartender and manager. He began working as a bartender at Kon Tiki and then Frisco’s. He is most known for his time at the Cabaret here in Kansas City. He then became Manager of the Backdoor and followed the Owner to Daddy’s where he continues to enjoy working with and meeting new people.

Michael (Bartender) - Michael is a KC native. He was raised in the old northeast area outside of downtown and lived there until the age of 21. After moving out to south KC for a few years, Michael now lives in Shawnee, Kansas. Michael has worked a variety of jobs over the years and loves the jobs he currently has. Michael began working for John as a server when Opals Kitchen opened, and then went to the Back Door, once opened, and started working there as a barback and bartender. Michael then helped with the opening of Daddy’s and now works as one of the bar staff. He states that “It has been a amazing experience, and the ironic part is that before I worked at the bar I only went out to them a couple times a year. I was pretty much a shy and quiet person growing up, but once the bear community found its footing in the gay world a lot of things changed. I like going to the bear events around the country and have been very fortunate to make some long time friends!”.
Jody (Bartender) - Just come on down to Daddy's Backdoor and Jody will tell you all about himself in person!
Zach (Disc Jockey) - Zach was born in Mulberry, Kansas population FIVE. He later moved to the big city of Kansas City in 1995. Over the years of being a DJ in the Metro, Zach has worked for some of the GBLT bars including the Cabaret and the old Backdoor. Zach also works for Tootsies, the local lesbian bar, now going on five years. You can find Zach playing every Friday and Saturday night from 10pm to close!

| Vincent (Barback/Bootblack) - Vincent started working with John at the Backdoor while he was President of the KC boys of Leather in 2003. During that time, he set up many events in the Leather Community there. Vincent later started bartending for John at Daddy’s and still occasionally will substitute and barback. He spends most of his time on his knees licking boots at the bootblack station on select weekends.
Scott (Webmaster) - Scott has been designing websites since 2000 and currently handles the design of the Daddy's Backdoor website, along with 4 other websites. Even though he's not a member of Daddy's bar staff, as one of Daddy's patrons, you will find him out and about at Daddy's almost every weekend, either playing darts, socialiazing with good friends, or cruising the bar.
